Join us for some of our fun events we have throughout the year. We host a number of First Friday Art Openings, and are always on the lookout for new local artists to showcase. Check out our calendar and our Facebook page for upcoming juried art shows, group artist shows, new releases from Monte Dolack, and artists featured from all over the northwest.

We have some fun art events for kids too! Classes will be specified for different age groups. Bring your kids in to learn about famous artists, painting techniques, colors and textures, and let their creativity fly!

Art Show

The Women and the Bears with Special Guests: Fruits - Art by Jennifer Baylis

November 2-23, 2026

This exhibition brings together three interconnected bodies of work exploring women, folk art, and the poetry of everyday experience. The women in these paintings inhabit moments of transition—quiet thresholds marked by vulnerability, strength, and perseverance.  They each carry their own mysterious story, one that we can bring our own meaning to.  I also explored painting the sensuality of texture, whether it is folds of satin or the delicate nature of lace against the glow of skin.  Painting is an act of discovery, one I feel drives me to paint and keeps my curiosity strong.

This past year, I began experimenting more freely, creating a series that brings together women, bears, and Norwegian rosemaling, drawing from the folklore and folk art of my Scandinavian heritage. In the process, inherited symbols became something deeply personal, allowing me to create a mythology of my own—one that remains open to interpretation.

My still lifes turn toward the intimacy of ordinary things: fruit, light, color, and surface, inviting us to slow down and look closely. The glisten of an orange, the sheen of an eggplant, or the waxiness of a cheese rind, becomes an opportunity to find beauty and sensuality in the familiar. Across all three bodies of work, I explore the space between the observed and the imagined, the personal and the archetypal. Together, these paintings reflect the ways we move through life’s passages, carry what we inherit, and transform the everyday into something newly seen.

Reception on Friday, November 13th 5:30-8pm
